Dhubri Post Graduate Teachers’ Training (DPGTT) College holds significant historical importance as the first teachers’ training (B.Ed.) College established in Dhubri district. Its foundation stone was laid on March 31st, 1991, through the efforts of prominent individuals from the district. Addressing a long-felt need, it became the sole teachers’ training college in Dhubri district.

The college received recognition from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) in 1998, as evidenced by ERC letter No. F.AS-S/E-7/97/6305 dated June 3rd, 1998. Affiliation with Gauhati University was established in 1994 (GU/AFF/94/8793 dated October 7th, 1994), and it secured a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Government of Assam in 2002 (letter No. A (1) E.362/2000/76 dated March 14th, 2002). Furthermore, the college obtained Government Concurrence in 2013 (letter No. AEE.477/2011/66 dated February 7th, 2013.)

With a land area of 13,380 sq. meters, generously donated by local residents, and a college building covering 1028 sq. meters, DPGTT College has a substantial physical infrastructure. Located in Jhagrarpar Part II, approximately 5 km from Dhubri Railway station and 280 km from Dispur, the capital of Assam, the college enjoys convenient accessibility.

Offering a two-year B.Ed. program with an intake capacity of 100 students, the college not only focuses on academic excellence but also emphasizes the holistic development of teacher trainees. This commitment fosters an environment conducive to all-round growth and learning.
